About Us

WHO WE ARE

MRSA Board and Leadership Team

The Mount Royal Staff Association (MRSA) is led by an Executive Board elected from within our membership. This ensures that every decision we make reflects the voices and interests of the people we represent.

Our leadership team includes a Full-time President and an Executive Assistant who manage the daily operations of the Association. The Executive Board meets regularly to discuss key issues, guide initiatives, and conduct the business of the MRSA.

We are committed to open and transparent communication with our members through emails, newsletters, surveys, our website, open houses, and General Meetings (GM and AGM) — ensuring every member stays informed, connected, and heard.

WHAT WE DO

Founded in 1978, the MRSA was created to give staff a unified voice and a strong foundation for collaboration, advocacy, and professional growth. While much has changed over the years, our core purpose remains the same — to support, represent, and empower our members.

The MRSA proudly serves as the bargaining agent for staff members, negotiating collective agreements that define fair and equitable terms of employment. Beyond advocacy, we are deeply committed to the well-being and professional success of our members.

We:

  • Represent and support staff in matters of employee relations and disability management.

  • Promote and enhance professional development opportunities for continued learning and growth.

  • Champion fairness and transparency in recruitment and selection processes.

  • Protect and uphold the rights and benefits outlined in our Collective Agreement.

Together, we work to ensure that every staff member at Mount Royal University is valued, respected, and supported in their professional journey.
