The MRU Coalition shall facilitate open and ongoing communication among its three constituent groups. This will be done through the:
Furthermore, the MRU Coalition shall encourage the creation of similar groups at other post- secondary institutions in Alberta with the goal to create a provincial network actively engaged in advocacy for post-secondary education in Alberta.
The MRU Coalition is an independent alliance of students, staff and faculty at MRU that reports out to its respective membership. The Coalition seeks to understand each group’s interests and where possible, find consensus regarding common goals and activities. Where consensus cannot be found, each group will respect the position of each member group.
The MRU Coalition shall consist of:
The MRU Coalition shall normally meet on a monthly basis during the academic year. Additional meetings may be called as necessary by the chair. Each President shall co- chair meetings on a rotational basis.
The MRU Coalition shall:
work within a broad advocacy mandate to propose strategies for affecting internal and public policy, including various forms Of public education and political action intended to influence the public or government.
